Aussies share band they most want to reunite after Oasis news

First it was television show reunions, now it seems band reunions are in.
It was a big day for Oasis fans last week when the band announced they would be reuniting for a special 2025 tour years after parting ways.
The ’90s British rock band, led by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher and known for hits like Wonderwall, broke hearts around the world when they disbanded in 2009.

So after news of their reunion, it was hardly a surprise fans scrambled to get tickets.
But in a wild twist, the band had to issue a warning on X (formerly Twitter) after tickets were listed online for thousands of dollars on resale sites shortly after the pre-sale.
On Stubhub, floor tickets for one of the Cardiff shows are as of time of writing listed for a whopping €4,155 (approx. $6,780) despite tickets sold for £150 ($245).
No Doubt, The Jonas Brothers, Take That and The Smashing Pumpkins are just some of the other bands that have reunited years later.

With the Oasis reunion on everyone’s minds, Nine.com.au exclusively asked 569 Aussies to weigh in on what bands they would also like to see reunite in the future.
While some pointed out that band member deaths could impact the chances of a reunion, there was one band that came out on top, snagging 33 per cent of the poll vote.

The Eagles scored as the most popular choice among Aussies.
They rose to fame in the ’70s with hits like Hotel California before breaking up in 1980.
While the band did come back together in 1994 for their live album Hell Freezes Over and again in 2007 for another album, it seems fans are eager for more.
In early 2023 they embarked on their farewell tour and not long after the band’s founder Randy Meisner died aged 77.
Not far behind with 31 per cent was another iconic ’70s band: Fleetwood Mac.
With songs like Chains and Silver Springs, the Stevie Nicks-led band is one for the books. But in a June 2024 interview, Nick shut down reunion talks without the late Christine McVie, saying it “couldn’t work”.
Coming in third with 30 per cent was ABBA, whose hits include Waterloo and Dancing Queen and inspired the Mamma Mia! musical and films.

While they briefly reunited in June for a knighthood ceremony in Sweden, the group have been disbanded since 1982.
The next bands voted in order were Pink Floyd (20 per cent), The Police (20 per cent), Led Zeppelin (18 per cent), Silverchair (14 per cent) and the Spice Girls (12 per cent).
2010s boy band One Direction racked up six per cent of the vote.
Though 24 per cent said they didn’t have any bands they wanted to reunite, eight per cent of Aussies gave some other options not included in the poll, such as Powderfinger, The Easybeats, Supertramp and Creedence Clearwater Revival.
